Why Black Racism Isn't A "Thing."

You hear white people say it all the time, "Black people are racist too." It gets so maddening explaining to white people over and over again why black people aren't actually racist. Yet, here I go again, this time I hope I have made it easier to understand. Maybe?

In this era of racial unrest and BLM matter coming to the aid of their fellow people, because they need to, we need to get somethings straight. I am white, and if you are white you need to listen. I live in a predominately minority area, where I, by skin color alone am not trusted. I am often looked at with angry eyes, treated badly, and face rudeness from the black community. Right there you might say, see that's racism. You're wrong, and here's why.

Though they might be angry, and they have every right to be, they have no power. Racism take power to employ, and they don't have it. They are angry because since their ancestors first stepped a shackled foot onto this land, they have endured horrors by people who look just like me, so why should they trust that I'm not like all the rest, when clearly they have learned many of us are like the rest. They don't trust us, and they have good reason. Even when we are helping them, they don't know if we are going to actually be good to them, or if they will wind up getting killed over some
interaction with us. I mean it's only happened millions of times.

Minorities don't have collective power, and collective power is everything. Even if a black person is mean to me, and they have been, and I take it with a grain of salt, because I know that at the end of the day these people have a reason to be angry with white people, and that they don't have the power to enforce any cruelties upon me collectively. Most areas, even predominately black or minority, still have white people who are the owners or bosses of the places they work, so even if they wanted to treat me badly, I know that somewhere there's a white person who's more likely to side with me, than with them.

If they do actually go further, and I have never had that happen, the courts and police enforce racism. While white people are killed by cops, a majority of people killed by them are in fact, black people. Our laws, and courts, justice systems are set up so they see white people in one light and black people in another. So, I'm the one who's more likely to get justice and be seen as the victim based on my skin color alone.

Racism isn't just about hating another skin color, or people based on their skin color, its about power, the power to enforce that hate, or force that hate upon others. It about them not getting justice, treated fairly, paid fairly, housed fairly, it about an entire society, and even their own people, enforcing this oppression on them.

If racism was just about hating others it would quickly fade, because without power it has no bite, but with power it can kill, and it does kill. So when white people say that black people are racist, they are wrong. It's easy to mistake anger, and mistrust of an oppressing class for racism, based on the same thoughts that has brought us here to where we are today. When white people play the victim, everyone loses, because we are the ruling class, and we need to stop ruling, and start living with, among, and treating well the minority classes, only then will our racist system change, and minority anger fade. Black people have no reason what so ever to trust white people on a massive scale when the scale is set for us to always win.

So you are wrong, racism for black people is not an actual thing, they don't have the power to inflict mass damage and death, and they don't want to, so stop using it as an argument, because it fails at them being able to apply this notion of racism to any actions, especially when they face white bosses, white justice, white laws, in a nation where they are 25% of the population but a majority of police killings, and prisoners.
