Meghan McCain The Not Hero
Unless you hid from everything that was happening this weekend, you know that McCain's funeral happened Saturday, and that millions were either watching or paying attention. It was around the same time as Aretha's. During the funeral many words of rebuke were spoken about Trump, while many words of the dedication McCain was recognized.
John McCain was across the political isles from me, however, he did care for this nation, and stood by it before his political party. He played a role in the Russia investigation, he stood by Affordable Care, and he fought for this nation which led to his subsequent capture and 5 years inn a prison camp. During his time imprisoned in Vietnam he was tortured.
While I don't agree with who he was, or what all he stood for, or even much of what his life was, I wouldn't show him disrespect in death. I also won't make hero's out of his daughter, or anyone who spoke against Trump during the funeral.
Meghan McCain isn't some strong woman, shes just a spoiled brat who hates the man who hated her father. She's the same woman who threw a fit on The View because of how much she can't stand socialism. It is the same level of socialism though, that paid her fathers salary, that paid for her health care, and that of her family. She grew up not having to worry about money, food, or health because of the taxpayers in America paying for her life. Her thanks to them is to try and deny others what she got, an enjoyable life, and an easy childhood.
Her job is even thanks to the socialism that helped her grow and flourish. She doesn't have any actual experience acting, or working in journalism, her only experience in life is her being the child of John McCain, and Fox tv doesn't count as any kind of real life experience.
So when she spoke at her fathers funeral, don't think it meant anything about her is good or decent. She hates Hillary, she said so on tv, she is a Republican who has ha everything given to her, and has no sense of thankfulness. She sides with her party, and has for a long while, no matter how toxic and disturbing it is. Unlike some Republicans who have spoken against the very nature of what is happening in the party, she still sides with their abhorrent behavior, and attempts to make the poor suffer.
When everyone was applauding her for standing up to Trump, I was looking on thinking how this woman represents nothing that I will applaud. The enemy of my enemy is not always my friend, and sometimes not worth acknowledging. Just because she has a moment of clarity doesn't mean shes had a life of change and introspection, and she doesn't deserve the mention, or any of the fan fair for what she did momentarily. What she will do in the long term is still be a rancid reminder of what ignorance, greed, and privilege breed.
A person should not be judged by a moment of their life, but by the sum of its contents, and hers contains selfishness, and greed. She's not a hero for using a moment to speak out when others have risked far more, for far longer to fight for this nation and its integrity.
So when it comes to making McCain out to be a hero, I'll pass, Meghan is no ones hero.
